Former Gwinnett Co. officer arrested for pandering

UNDATED - A former public information officer for the Gwinnett County Police Department is facing pandering charges in Barrow County.

According to a Gwinnett Police Department spokesman, Cpl. Brian Kelly was arrested in Barrow County on May 31 for soliciting an act of prostitution.

He said Kelly resigned Tuesday after receiving a letter from his supervisors, stating their intent to terminate his employment since he did not report his arrest.

Cpl. Kelly had served with the Gwinnett County Police Department since 2003 and worked as the agency's public information officer for approximately two years during that time.

No other details about Kelly's arrest are immediately available.
