Suwanee looking for off-the-wall YouTube-worthy videosSUWANEE - Do you see life through the lens of a video camera? Do you have what it takes to produce a fun, slightly off-the-wall video about the joys of living in Suwanee? If so, perhaps you could win up to $1,000 in the City's first-ever video competition. Winning videos will be uploaded to the City of Suwanee's YouTube channel and made available via www.suwanee.com.
What we're really hoping, says Public Information Officer Lynne Bohlman DeWilde, is to receive several fun, creative videos - that are a bit edgy, without being profane or offensive, videos that have the potential to go viral like the Old Spice guy. We figured that we'd turn to our creative community for an insider's take on living in Suwanee. More than one video may be selected as a winner. Up to $2,500 may be awarded through the competition with up to $1,000 being awarded for individual videos. The City of Suwanee reserves the right not to select any winning videos. The deadline for submission is July 20. Original videos should be no longer than three minutes. While the video's goal should be to promote the City of Suwanee to potential residents and businesses, it can be funny - which city officials emphasize - but not foul. Suggested themes include Suwanee on the Edge or My Wacky, Wonderful Hometown. Remember, you'll need to comply with copyright regulations, including any use of music. The preferred format for submissions is WMV or MOV, provided via DVD. Applications are available at www.suwanee.com and must be submitted with video entries.
