Citizens group call for no vote on airport proposal

LAWRENCEVILLE - A citizen's group in Gwinnett County is calling on Gwinnett County Commissioners Tuesday to vote no related to an airport proposal.

Citizens for a Better Gwinnett wants the commission to vote down a proposal to hire an outside firm to take over the county's Briscoe Field.

Propeller Investments has submitted a proposal that includes commercial flights to New York, Chicago and other cities using Boeing 737's.

In a press release Monday, Citizens for a Better Gwinnett said it expected the company would request a vote delay. The citizens group called for a no vote Tuesday, regardless of any request from the company.
