BRASELTON - 101 teams walked to the finish line early Saturday morning as the American Cancer Society Hall County Relay for Life raised thousands of dollars for cancer research.

Senior Community Manager Andrea Shoemaker says many concerned North Georgians showed up to make this year's 12 hour walk a success.

"We sort of estimated that we may have had around 13,000 people show up for the event," Shoemaker said.

Although, Shoemaker says they still have more than $106,000 dollars to raise before the end of August to hit their goal of $466,000 dollars.

Twenty one new teams participated in the relay which was held for the fourth time at Road Atlanta.
