Alpharetta couple charged in teen house party

ALPHARETTA (AP) -- An Alpharetta couple is facing charges after 18 teenagers were cited for underage drinking at their home.

53-year-old Andreas Droege and his 48-year-old wife Dagmar Droege were charged with furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors.

Police interrupted the party Thursday night at their home on Waters Mill Court. The police incident report says an officer saw several teenagers leaving the Droeges' house and smelled alcohol on them.

The report says Andreas Droege answered the door and allowed the officer to search the house.

Seventeen of the teens were cited for minor in possession of alcohol and released to the custody of their parents. The 19-year-old Michael Whitehurst was being held at the Fulton County Jail North Annex for being uncooperative.

Whitehurst was charged with underage drinking.
