Another complex marijuana grow house discovered in Gilmer Co.By Katie Crumley Access Insider ELLIJAY - For the second time this month, a complex marijuana grow operation with Mexican drug cartel ties has been discovered in Gilmer County.
According to the Gilmer County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, 50 pot plants with a street value of $125,000 were discovered at the New Hope Road home of Roberto Diaz last week. Sheriff's officials said the execution of a search warrant at Diaz's home was prompted by their investigation into another marijuana grow house bust---that one occurred May 15 at a home on Talona Terrace and netted one arrest and 200 plants with an estimated street value of $500,000. Unlike the Talona Terrace residence, deputies said it appears Diaz's home was going to be a packaging and distribution location for the marijuana. They said warrants have been issued for Diaz and another suspect in the case. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
