Gay Crowned 2011 Belle of the Ball
GAINESVILLE – Molly Gay, representing the Gainesville Jaycees, was crowned the 2011 Belle of the Ball Saturday night at the Gainesville-Hall County Junior League’s Annual Charity Ball. Gay is a Senior at Lakeview Academy, and is the daughter of Dana and Tommy Gay.
The 2011 Charity Ball marked the 60th anniversary of the event which serves as one of the Junior League’s major fundraisers. The evening featured music by the band Glow, a holiday buffet and a silent auction. The annual event raises money for the Junior League allowing them to support community agencies and projects working to make Gainesville-Hall County a better place for families and children.
This year seven local civic groups sponsored belle candidates, who were charged with raising money on behalf on the Junior League, and as the highlight of the Charity Ball, the belle candidate who raises the most money is crowned Belle of the Ball.
