GAINESVILLE-John Sulhoff, President and co-founder of Private Client Advisory, Inc. in Gainesville, GA, joined with dozens of other professional financial planners Saturday, October 8, 2011, to provide free one-on-one counseling to people who attended the inaugural Atlanta Financial Planning Day at the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency in Atlanta.

Sulhoff, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with 15 years of experience in the financial industry, was available all day to give personalized advice and answer general planning questions on topics such as investing, retirement, income taxes, estates, insurance, and employee benefits.

The Atlanta Financial Planning Day’s purpose was to give people who may not normally have access to reliable and ethical financial planning services the opportunity to meet with professional financial planners and receive unbiased advice tailored to their unique situation.

“People often think professional financial planning is too expensive, so this was a great opportunity to get questions about money answered for free,” said Sulhoff. “It was so much fun, and I hope more people will take advantage of it next year.”

Sulhoff and the other CFP® professionals volunteered their services on a pro-bono basis with no strings attached. They were not allowed to hand out business cards, marketing materials, or sell anything. Attendees were given contact information on all the financial planners who participated, so they could follow-up with any of them if they chose to do so.

The Atlanta Financial Planning Day was open to anyone and held at the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency, a non-profit organization that has assisted thousands of Atlanta residents secure gainful employment and be self-sufficient.
The event was sponsored by the City of Atlanta and the Financial Planning Association of Georgia, one of 98 chapters in the Financial Planning Association, a national organization of nearly 30,000 financial planners.
