Clarkesville worker airlifted after falling 30 feet onto stonework
By Rob Moore
CLARKESVILLE – A worker said to be in his 40s was airlifted to Atlanta for treatment after falling from the roof of a house onto the rock surfaces below.
“Best I heard, he fell 30 feet onto stone steps and the stone patio,” said Jason Davey, assistant fire chief for Habersham County. “They had a crew up there doing some roofing when he fell.”
The accident happened on Hemlock Drive inside Soque Wilderness, a gated community north of Clarkesville. The injured man, whose name was not immediately available, was taken by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center, Davey said.
“I’d say it was pretty serious,” Davey said.
