Softball: Fannin blanks Union 4-0 to finish with top seed

BLAIRSVILLE -- Fannin County softball shut out Union County 4-0 on Thursday in Blairsville to claim the top seed from Region 8N-AA.

The Lady Rebels allowed just six hits in the victory, while Union County finished second in 8N-AA.

Lady Panthers pitcher Angie Hughes struck out 13 in the loss, giving up three earned runs. Union County's Catie Tanner led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3.

Both teams will begin play in the Region 8-AA tournament next week.
