Volleyball: Lakeview wins one in quad-match

GAINESVILLE -- The Lakeview Academy volleyball team defeated Rabun County but fell to West Forsyth and North Hall on Thursday in Gainesville.

The Lady Lions (10-9, 3-1 sub-Area 8 A/AA) took out Rabun 25-5 and 25-14 with Jamie Nixon recording 9 kills and Molly Gay and Megan McIntyre 5 assists apiece.

Lakeview fell to West Forsyth 25-15 and 25-7 and was then edged by North Hall in three sets, 25-20, 22-25, 22-25. Nixon recorded 12 kills in the loss to the Lady Trojans, while Katie White added 7 kills and Mona Abraham 6 kills. Bailey Towles chipped in with 13 assists, while Gay managed 12 assists.

The Lady Lions will play again Sept. 20 against Madison County and Heritage (Conyers) in Danielsville.
