Boys basketball: Red Elephants keep gaining momentum

LOGANVILLE -- The Gainesville boys basketball team continued its ascent in Region 8B-AAA on Tuesday, defeating Walnut Grove 56-48 in Loganville.

The Red Elephants (12-6, 5-2 Region 8B-AAA) have now won three straight subregion games heading into Friday’s showdown at Johnson. 

Shaquan Cantrell scored 21 points in the victory on Tuesday, which reversed an earlier loss to Walnut Grove.  Quon Holcomb also added 18 points and Tray Harrison had eight assists for Gainesville.
