(Cleveland)- Stephens Federal Bank has closed their branch office in Cleveland. The closing was official last Thursday.
Stephens Federal President Tim Ash said it was another result of the slow economy and the Cleveland office was primarily setup to handle home mortgage loans and that has been down for some time, leading to the decision to close the office.
Cleveland customers can still receive services at the other SFB offices in Toccoa, Clayton and Hiawassee.
Stephens Federal has been in Cleveland for 11 years and Ash said before the housing market downturn this was a good market for them.
