ATLANTA -- It was a banner day for area golfers on Wednesday in an Atlanta Junior Golf tournament at Chestatee Golf Club in Atlanta.
Gainesville High student Reeves Bell claimed the boys 15-18-year-old open division, firing a low round of 72.
Meanwhile, Gainesville’s Jackson Bishop carded a 77 to finish third in the boys 13-14 open division, and Gainesville Middle School student Spencer Ralston tied for second in the boys 12-and-under division, recording a 75.
On the girls side, Gainesville High’s Susan Frobos shot a 96 to finish second in the girls 7-18 division. Teammate LeeAnn Noble finished just behind at third place with a 98. Stephanie Lightfoot also carded a 109, while Hall County resident Hunter Pugh recorded a 101.
A total of 77 golfers from Georgia competed in the tournament, including North Hall’s Jackson Berry, who shot an 80 in the boys 15-18-year-old open division, along with teammate Andy Bracewell, who managed an 85. C.J. Evans also scored an 80.
Gainesville Middle’s Nathan Williams also shot a 78 the boys 13-14 open division, while Trey Forrester carded an 89 in the boys 15-18 club division.
