Baseball: Knights homer six times against Gilmer

OAKWOOD -- Johnson baseball pounded out a 21-6, four-inning win over Gilmer on Wednesday in Oakwood.

The Knights (12-13, 9-9 Region 7-AAA) pounded out 19 hits, including 6 home runs, in their demolition of the Bobcats.

Logan Pethel led the Knights at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a three-run home run, two-run homer, double and a walk to finish with eight RBIs.

Fletcher Whiting followed with two home runs and a single for five RBIs. Ryan Farmer also added two hits including one home run, while Blake Stacey tacked on four singles.

Trae Wilson also homered and had a double for Johnson, and Chris White had two hits, with A.J Benefield adding three more.

Benefield pitched four complete innings for the win.

Johnson travels to West Forsyth on Friday to finish the season.
