Both Gilmer teams moved through, while the East Hall girls and Johnson boys squads each were victorious on Tuesday in play-in matches for the Region 7-AAA tennis tournament.
The Johnson boys blanked Pickens 3-0 in a match played at Flowery Branch High, while the Lady Vikings took out White County 3-1 at the Hog Mountain Tennis Center.
Meanwhile the Bobcats edged East Hall 3-2, and the Lady Bobcats blanked West Hall 3-0 in matches played at the Bobby Bailey Tennis Center in Flowery Branch.
Play in the 7-AAA tournament begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday with matches played in the same 3 locations. The quarterfinal round will follow in the afternoon, where all matches will be played at Bobby Bailey Tennis Center.
