Tennis: Region 7-AAA play-in matches wrap

Both Gilmer teams moved through, while the East Hall girls and Johnson boys squads each were victorious on Tuesday in play-in matches for the Region 7-AAA tennis tournament.

The Johnson boys blanked Pickens 3-0 in a match played at Flowery Branch High, while the Lady Vikings took out White County 3-1 at the Hog Mountain Tennis Center.

Meanwhile the Bobcats edged East Hall 3-2, and the Lady Bobcats blanked West Hall 3-0 in matches played at the Bobby Bailey Tennis Center in Flowery Branch.

Play in the 7-AAA tournament begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday with matches played in the same 3 locations. The quarterfinal round will follow in the afternoon, where all matches will be played at Bobby Bailey Tennis Center.

WEDNESDAY’S EARLY SCHEDULE:
-- 10 a.m., Johnson girls vs. Lumpkin County (at Flowery Branch High)
-- 10 a.m., Chestatee girls vs. Gainesville (at Bobby Bailey)
-- 10 a.m., North Hall girls vs. East Hall (at Davis Middle)
-- 10 a.m., Flowery Branch girls vs. Gilmer (at Bobby Bailey)

-- 11:30 a.m., Gainesville boys vs. White County (at Davis Middle)
-- 11:30 a.m., Chestatee boys vs. Flowery Branch (at Bobby Bailey)
-- 11:30 a.m., Lumpkin County boys vs. Johnson (at Flowery Branch High)
-- 11:30 a.m., West Forsyth boys vs. Gilmer (at Bobby Bailey)
