Victim in Banks Co. wreck identified

HOMER - The State Patrol has released the name of one of the two people killed Tuesday afternoon in separate wrecks on northeast Georgia roads.

Reports say Leighanne Montecalvo , 47, of Homer, died after her car crossed the center line and hit another car on Georgia 51 in Banks County near Homer just before 5:00. Five other people were injured in the crash.

About an hour and a half earlier a 73-year-old was killed in a one-car accident near Dawsonville. The State Patrol says the victim was in a car that left Hubbardsville Road and hit a tree. Late Wednesday morning, the victim's name was still not being released but the name and other details were released Thursday morning. (See separate story.)
