NE Ga. unemployment rate rises to 9.9 percent

ATLANTA - The unemployment rate increased slightly in Northeast Georgia, according to Wednesday's report from the Georgia Department of Labor. The department said that the jobless rate in Northeast Georgia rose from 9.8 in September to 9.9 percent in October.
A look county by county shows that Metro Gainesvile's unemployment rate jumped 3 tenths of a percentage point, from 9.0 in September to 9.3 in October; Dawson County was 9.9 percent; Lumpkin County's jobless rate at 11.4 and Pickens County was at 11.3 percent.
Meanwhile, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose slightly to 10.2 percent in October, up one-tenth of a percentage point from a revised 10.1 percent in September.
