GAINESVILLE — A delegation of physicians from Russia recently visited Northeast Georgia Medical Center to learn more about the hospital’s perinatal services provided through the Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby and Neonatal Intensive Care units.

The group was part of the Collaborating Center for the World Health Organization (WHO), which is committed to improving neonatology/perinatology services around the world. The Collaborating Center for the WHO hosts a group of international physicians each year to visit a major medical center to learn more about they way they provide state-of-the-art health care. This year, NGMC was chosen for the site visit.

“We are honored to be the chosen facility for this year’s WHO site visit,” says Sara Dyer, director of Women & Children’s Services at NGMC. “Our new Women & Children’s Pavilion boasts not only state-of-the-art equipment and facilities in our all new Labor & Deliver and Neonatal Intensive Care units, but also expert physicians, midwives and staff who deliver top quality care. We are happy to share our experiences with others from around the world.”
