Girls basketball: Lady Tigers start 3-0

DACULA -- The Dawson County girls basketball team defeated Mt. Pisgah in the first round of the Hebron Turkey Classic 47–35 on Monday night in Dacula.

The Lady Tigers (3-0) ran out to a 10-3 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, leading 33-18 after three quarters.

Jessi Phillips racked up 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead Dawson, followed by freshman Hannah Porter with 8 points, including 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Freshman Allie Costley tossed in 7 points and had 6 rebounds.

The Lady Tigers will play in the championship game at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at Hebron Christian Academy.
