3 still missing after boat pulled into dam
By The Associated Press
JASPER, Tenn. - A search continues for three missing North Georgia men after a weekend boating accident near Nickajack Dam.
An official of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said five people from Dalton, Ga., were fishing below the dam on Guntersville Reservoir on Saturday evening when their boat was pulled into a flood gate.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported brothers Hildebrando Hureta-Hernandez, who was 14 years old, and Norberto Hureta-Hernandez, who was 26, were found alive and uninjured about two miles downstream.
TWRA assistant supervisor Joey Wray said the names of the missing boaters won't be released until families are notified.
Wildlife agency Officer Mike Bailey said the bass boat was torn apart Saturday evening in the chilly, turbulent water.
