Gas prices in Georgia remain fairly steady from last week
TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 22, 2009-This week's Fuel Price Brief from Triple-A Auto Club South shows that Georgians are paying an average of $2.50 for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline.
Gregg Laskoski with Triple-A says aside from any significant drop in the dollar, there is little on the horizon that is likely to push crude prices at this point. Crude oil closed on Friday at $76.72 per barrel, just 37 cents above
last week's closing
According to Laskoski, "In five of the last seven years, the national average price of gasoline has declined during Thanksgiving week and one week it remained unchanged,". “Only once in the last seven years have prices increased and that was 2006 when the national average price of unleaded gasoline increased by 3 cents per gallon during Thanksgiving week.”
The price of gas remain unchanged in Tennessee as well at $2.49; and in Florida, the price fell by a cent from a week ago, $2.68 to $2.67.
