Girls basketball: Lakeview opens with win over Banks County

GAINESVILLE - The Lakeview Academy girls basketball team opened its season with a 40-34 win over Banks County Tuesday night in a game played at Riverside Military Academy.

Senior Maddie Haymore poured in 16 points to lead Lakeview (1-0). Fellow senior Louisa Jacobs had nine points and Mona Abraham added seven for the Lady Lions.

Deasha Beasley led Banks County (0-1) with 14 points. Terri Cregar added eight for the Lady Leopards.

Both are off until meeting again Nov. 30 at Lakeview Academy.
