Census Bureau: Help Wanted

GAINESVILLE - The Census Bureau is need of more people at its regional office in Gainesville... and has launched a hiring campaign.

Applications are being accepted for a variety of positions - from Recruiting Assistants to Census Takers to Office Clerks - both full-time and part-time. The Gainesville regional office is located at 715 Queen City Parkway, Suite 200.

Manager Carol Zaremba said when the office opened earlier this year that when fully staffed it will have 50 employees. However, hundreds more workers will be needed to conduct the actual head count. The office is one of 150 local census offices opening this year nationally. According to the Atlanta Regional office. the Census will employ nearly 1.4-million people around the country.

Applications are being accepted now through March. The Census will take place April 1. Click on the link below to learn more about applying.
