Dawsonville-The city of Dawsonville saw it’s share of antique cars, miniature whiskey stills and boiled peanuts at the 42nd Annual Moonshine Festival.
Several Dawsonville business owners took advantage of the crowds, renting booths on Main Street to promote their services to passersby. Other natives reflected on the history of the parade and downtown festivities.
Local Business owner Michelle Gunter said, “I am excited to see the parade and I am just excited to see how it’s grown I have been coming to this festival since I can remember, since I was a little girl and they only had two or three tents it’s just amazing to see what it’s grown in to.”
The event donates proceeds to KARE for Kids, a non-profit organization that supports kids in Dawson County.
Despite cold weather over one hundred citizens shopped the downtown Dawsonville vendor booths and cheered on drivers in the parade.
