CLEVELAND - Cleveland police have arrested a suspect in connection with a home invasion early Sunday. Police Chief John Foster said the incident occurred around 4:30 on Old Clarkesville Highway.

Foster said the suspect forced him way inside the house and was confronted by the homeowner. A struggle ensued and the suspect's gun discharged.  Chief Foster said the unidentified homeowner was not hit by the gunfire, but did receive a head injury during the struggle. The suspect fled the scene.

After working on leads and evidence found at the scene, Foster said police made an arrest Sunday evening.

27-year old Laquincy Nicely of Cleveland is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts each of burglary-forced entry and aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  Nicely is currently being held in the White County Detention Center.
