OAKWOOD –- While Johnson and West Forsyth each entered Friday night's game at Billy Ellis Memorial Stadium with one subregion win each, the Wolverines made sure they walked away with their second.

More to the point, Ben Emert ensured it.

Emert finished the night with 14 carries for 274 yards and 5 touchdowns, as the Wolverines pounded out a 41-0 win in Oakwood.

The Wolverines (4-3, 2-1 Region 7B-AAA) opened with a 20-yard touchdown run from Emert for a 7-0 lead and never looked back. Emert carried the ball 10 times for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first half.

In contrast Johnson only managed 100 yards in the first 24 minutes. Mantevius Rucker carried the ball 5 times for 38 yards and quarterback Anthony Prophet rushed 4 times 26 yards.

West Forsyth added a misdirection handoff to Colton Cloud for another West Forsyth touchdown and a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Wolverines scored again on a 38-yard run by Emert in the second quarter for a 20-0 advantage following a missed PAT.

Emert stunned fans with a 77-yard touchdown in the third quarter. At the end of the period, the Wolverines scored again on runs of 6 yards and 40 yards by Emert to round out the touchdowns on the night.

West Forsyth had 372 total yards of offense, 330 of that coming on the ground and 42 in the air.

Johnson (2-6, 1-2) had 221 yards of total offense with 154 yards on the ground and 67 yards in the air.

West Forsyth continues its season at home next week against Flowery Branch.

Johnson plays host to East Hall at home.
