Pedestrian struck in Madison County

COLBERT – A person walking on a dark road in Madison County Monday night was struck and killed.

The Georgia State Patrol reports that the victim was walking along McCarty-Dodd Road northbound, just east of Colbert, when that person was struck by a Ford F-250 pickup truck, also travelling northbound.

Rain and dark conditions played a factor in the accident.

The identities of the victim and the driver have not been released.

No charges have been filed.
