Volleyball: West Hall finishes with 6-5 area record

West Hall volleyball honored seniors Sadie Cornett, Erica Grainger and Kristen Holmes last night in Oakwood, taking on Chestatee and Flowery Branch in a tri-match.

The Lady Spartans swept the Lady War Eagles 25-19, 27-25 but fell to Flowery Branch 25-14, 25-13 to finish with an area 7-AAA record of 6-5.

Grainger led West Hall with 20 assists and 4 aces. Laykin Herford and Cornett each added 3 aces each for the night, while Holmes had 7 kills and Tonya Bennett had 6 kills. The defense was led by Nicolette Ashley with 9 digs for the evening.

West Hall will travel to Flowery Branch on Thursday to take on Chestatee in the start of region playoffs.
