Area counties getting funds for transportation projects

UNDATED - Banks, Barrow, Forsyth and Rabun counties will each receive a portion of the $331 million Gov. Sonny Perdue has certified for transportation projects in the state.
Perdue made the announcement Tuesday.
The funds are to be used for repair and maintenance on roads, intersections and bridges.
Banks County will receive $625,000 for landscaping work on the Maysville Streetscape project.
Barrow County is getting $1.5 million for the resurfacing and maintenance of area roads. Nearly the same amount will go to Forsyth County for similar work.
And Rabun County will receive $102,489 for pavement rehabilitation on Tallulah River Road.
