CLARKESVILLE - Northeast Georgia native John Kollock will release his latest book September 25 at an event at the historic Mauldin House in Clarkesville.

The 82-page hardback book is entitled "Painting Memories in Watercolor."

The local artist and writer describes his approach to his life's work, saying he brings memories to life through painting.

Kollock says he has compiled a personal account which reveals the relationship of an artist to his subject matter.

The City of Clarkesville is hosting the release event in partnership with Mountain Gallery.

"John has been a wonderful resource for the work that we are doing through the Clarkesville Better Hometown program," said Downtown Coordinator E. Lane Gresham. "We look forward to hosting the release event for his latest work."

Kollock will be on hand to greet visitors and to sign copies of the book.

The 82-page hardback is 8-1/2" x 11" and features 54 full-color illustrations of paintings by the artist and is priced at $50.

After Sept. 25, copies of the book will be available in shops and bookstores.

The Historic Mauldin House is located at 458 Jefferson Street, Clarkesville. For more information, call Gresham at 706-754-2220 or e-mail lgresham@clarkesvillega.com.
