Two killed in head on collision

CORNELIA – Two women were killed and a child injured in a crash in Cornelia Friday afternoon.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, 66-year-old Linda Buschmann of Demorest was travelling north on GA-105 near Cannon Bridge Friday afternoon at around 2:30 when she crossed the center line and collided head on with a southbound vehicle driven by 18-year-old Amanda Lee Johnson of Cleveland.

Buschmann was pronounced dead on the scene. Johnson was flown via Emory Life Flight to an Atlanta hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries and died.

Also in the vehicle with Ms. Johnson was a 3-year-old child. The child whose name is not being released was flown by air ambulance to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta and is currently recovering.
