JEFFERSON - It took firefighters from five different departments more than three hours to put out a fire in Jackson County Wednesday morning.

Steve Nichols with Jackson County Emergency Services said units from Arcade, Jefferson, South Jackson, Nicholson, and Jackson County fire departments responded to 324 Anglin Road just before 10 a.m. to find a home fully involved with fire.

Nichols said firefighters finished fighting the fire around 1 p.m.

He said no one was at home at the time and no injuries were reported, but the house has been ruled a total loss. The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the family.

Nichols said the Arcade Fire Department is investigating the cause of the blaze.
