Meeting Tuesday on MLK road project in Jefferson

GAINESVILLE - The Georgia Department of Transportation plans on paving part of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Jefferson and the public will get to have its say on the matter Tuesday.
That's when DOT will host an open house meeting will be held at the Jefferson Civic Center, starting at 4 p.m..
DOT engineers will be on-hand to discuss the plans to pave Martin Luther King Drive from Galilee Church Road to MLK Avenue, which is currently a dirt road.
Residents that can't make the meeting have until August 28 to write the DOT with their comments. Send them to Glenn Bowman, Georgia DOT, 3993 Aviation Circle, Atlanta, GA, 30336. All comments will be considered in the development of the final project design and must be received by August 28. After the open house, plans can be viewed at the Georgia DOT District Office located at 2505 Athens Highway in Gainesville.
