Woman dies in Rabun Co. wreck

TIGER – A woman is dead after a single-vehicle accident on Old Highway 441 in Tiger, Ga., on Saturday.

The Georgia State Patrol says 80-year-old Ruth Hopkins Scroggs, of Tiger, ran off the roadway and struck a tree around 10:30 a.m. She was taken to Mountain Lakes Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.

There were no passengers in the vehicle.
