CLAYTON – The driver of a big rig hauling a carnival ride is facing charges after a three-vehicle accident on Sunday in Rabun County.

The State Patrol says 57-year-old Randy Sisk of Shelby, NC, was transporting the ride from the Smoky Mountain Fair when he slammed into a pick-up truck on GA-2 at the Bluegrass Lane intersection. The tractor trailer pushed the truck into oncoming traffic where it collided with another pick-up, according to the Patrol.

Two female passengers were taken by ambulance to Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Rabun County for treatment. They are expected to make a full recovery.

Sisk is charged with following too closely, driving too fast for conditions and driving without a license on his person.

The intersection was closed for about an hour as crews worked the scene.
