UNDATED – Following a near drowning Saturday at Lower Overlook Park in Buford, a four-year-old girl has died.

Athra Abdulla of Clarkston died Monday at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

She was pulled from the water Saturday at Lower Overlook Park near Buford Dam by a man who was riding a jet ski and was one of several bystanders who jumped in after her, according to Cpl. Eric Sanders of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

An off-duty nurse administered CPR until emergency personnel got to the scene.

Meanwhile, a 56-year-old man is recovering after being rescued by his son Saturday morning after falling into the Chattahoochee River near the dam while fly-fishing.

Gwinnett fire officials said the man regained consciousness within a few minutes of resuscitation efforts. The man's name was not released.
