PEACHTREE CITY - There's an increased danger of grass and woods fires in a large part of Georgia today... including the Gainesville area.
A Red Flag Warning has been posted because of low humidities and some gusty winds.
Partial text of the statement issued by the National Weather Service:
DRY FUEL MOISTURE CONDITIONS WILL COMBINE WITH RELATIVE
HUMIDITIES OF 20 TO 25 PERCENT AND WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS 10 TO
20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 25 MPH. THIS WILL CREATE DANGEROUS FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS.
THIS WARNING INCLUDES THE SOME OF THE CHATTAHOOCHEE AND ALL OF THE OCONEE
NATIONAL FORESTS.
A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING...OR WILL OCCUR WITHIN 36 HOURS.
