CUMMING - A Cumming man has died of injuries received in a car-motorcycle accident Saturday night.
49-year-old Terry Hitt died Sunday at an Atlanta hospital.
Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Sgt. Chris Shelton said that Hitt was riding a 1985 Honda CB 650 motorcycle northbound on Castleberry Road when it collided with a 2007 Suzuki Vitara SUV driven by Marian J. Anwar, 25, of Estates Path in Cumming.
Shelton said that Anwar was also northbound on Castleberry in her vehicle and was ahead of Hitt’s motorcycle when she attempted to make an illegal u-turn at the intersection of Castleberry and Hutchinson roads. Hitt’s motorcycle collided into the driver’s side door of the Suzuki.
The accident occurred at 6:15 Saturday night.
Hitt, Anwar and a passenger in her vehicle were all taken by ambulance to Northside Hospital – Forsyth. Hitt was later transferred by helicopter ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where he died Sunday afternoon. The passenger in Anwar’s vehicle was identified as Mona Samir Willson, 50, of Pilgrim Lake Drive in Cumming.
Anwar was charged with making an improper left turn. Sgt. Shelton said additional charges will be forthcoming following Hitt’s death. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as contributing factors, he added.
