By staff reports
BRASELTON -- Greg Simpson pulled into the lead on lap 14 and stayed in front the rest of the way, as he rolled to a victory in the Pro Late Model, 60-lap event at Lanier National Speedway on Saturday in Braselton.
Simpson maintained the lead despite two cautions on lap 21 and was one of several drivers to earn glory on the night.
Paul Ampley drove to victory in the Super Trucks race, while Jason Bates claimed the win in the Open Wheel Modified division.
Mike Davidson maintained his undefeated run to the season by winning again in the Ice Man race.
Jeff Chadwick pulled out a win in the Sportsman division.
The Mini Stocks race produced a unique finish, as Steve Hill picked up the victory after William Ernest bumped leader James Nash on the final lap. The move disqualified Ernest and knocked Nash into second place, as Hill picked up the win. Mike Childers also earned the victory in the Street Stocks race.
Davey Matthews won the 20-lap Legends division of the Semipro event. Meanwhile, Daniel Hemrick claimed the Pro division, while Lamar Adams finished first in the Masters division and seventh overall.
In the Bandolero events, Dalton Robertson took the overall win and finished first in the Young Guns, while Kason Plott was second overall and the top Bandit driver on the night.
Next weekend should also prove eventful at Lanier, as races move to a two-night session. Fans can take in Bandolero, Legends and Pro Late Model racing during Friday's Moon Pie Fan Appreciation Night.
Meanwhile, Saturday will feature a 40-lap Pro Late Model event, while a 250 Pro Cup and a 100 ASA Late Model race will also take place.
