FLOWERY BRANCH – A Flowery Branch toddler will be buried Thursday after dying Sunday, one day after she was found unconscious in a pool at a house on Strickland Road.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jeff Strickland said the call came in around 6:30 Saturday night of a possible drowning at a house in the 5100 block of Strickland Road.

“Upon arrival, EMS found 20-month old Alyssa Kidd unconscious with CPR underway,” he said. “The preliminary investigation revealed that the child was found floating in a swimming pool by a family member who pulled the child from the water and began (trying to revive her).”

Col. Strickland says the youngster was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville by ambulance. “She was later transferred to an Atlanta children's hospital by helicopter,” he added.

Strickland said the child was pronounced dead around 4:00 Sunday afternoon.

The funeral will be at 11:00 Thursday at Poplar Springs Baptist Church near Oakwood.
