BRASELTON - The recession nothwithstanding, a mixed-used development that would include a hotel is in the works on 30 acres in Braselton.

The city's planning commission is to consider the proposal on June 29 at 7:00. Plans call for a retail/office/restaurant component as well as the hotel on the site which is on Georgia Highway 53 near I-85 and Georgia Highway 124. Planners will consider an application for annexation and re-zoning from John C. Buchanan. The current zoning classification is General Industrial and the requested zoning classification is General Commercial (G-C).

The Braselton City Council is expected to hold another public hearing on Thursday, July 9, at 4:00.
