GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce has announced this year's Leadership Hall County and Youth Leadership Hall classes.
Leadership Hall County program seeks to expose potential leaders of Hall County to the inter-related economic, government, socio-cultural and educational issues of the community. Participants attend a series of one-day sessions on topics such as arts, education, health and social services, city and state governments, judicial, and economic development.
Leadership Hall County was initiated by the Greater Hall Chamber in 1983, and since then over 550 people have graduated from the program. Class members are nominated by former participants and selected by the Leadership Hall County Committee. Leadership Hall County graduates continue to be involved in many areas of volunteer and civic service in our community.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP HALL
The chamber formed Youth Leadership Hall (YLH) in fall 2005. This program is designed for high school juniors and seniors and enables students to develop leadership skills while increasing awareness of the community.
It consists of two sessions, fall and spring, and seeks to provide an investment in the community’s future leadership by fostering interest in the community and inspiring students to become the leaders of tomorrow. Students must have a satisfactory academic standing and be nominated by a teacher, administrator, coach, or extra curricular activity director. A selection committee interviewed and selected the following high school participants for 2009-2010.
“I am grateful and honored for the opportunity to serve as the incoming QuEST (Quality Education Strategy Team) Council chairman. I am excited about the future of the program and look forward to a great year,” said Jody Nelson, Georgia Power Company, who has served on the Youth Leadership Hall committee for the past two years. "After interviewing close to 100 students, our committee realized the high caliber students we are fortunate to have in Gainesville-Hall County. The 2009-2010 Class of Youth Leadership Hall is an exceptional group of students."
