Tennis: Lady Spartans squeek past Johnson

The West Hall girls tennis team improved its record to 7-2 on Thursday with a 3-2 win over Region 7-AAA rival Johnson.
Johnson took the No. 1 singles point when Cady Nix upended Kacie Smith 6-3, 2-6, 2-6. But the Lady Spartans bounced back with wins at No. 2 singles from Kaylin Walters, 6-2, 6-2, and at No. 3 singles from Samantha Lingle, 6-3, 7-6,(7-2).
West Hall clinched the win at No. 1 doubles with Chelsea Britt and Alex Wright defeating Laura Gazaway and Annabeth Peace 6-3, 7-5.
