Tennis: Doubles points push Spartans past Knights

The West Hall boys tennis team edged Johnson 3-2 in a match played at the Bobby Bailey Tennis Center in Flowery Branch on Thursday.

The Spartans (5-4, 3-1 Region 7B-AAA) won at No. 1 singles with Brenden Worth and at both doubles slots.

Johnson's Stefan Hester took a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles, and William Anthony won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, but it wasn't enough for the Knights.

Jimmy Kincaid and Kyle Weatherly swept through the No. 1 doubles match, 6-0, 6-0 over Carlos Flores and Rory Collins. West Hall's Nathan Turner and Andrew Johnson also won 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 over Casey Tanner and Paul Neese at No. 2 doubles.

Next up for the Spartans will be Flowery Branch at home on Tuesday.
