Father killed, son injured in Jackson Co. wreck

COMMERCE – One man was killed in a Sunday afternoon accident on Highway 326 near Commerce.

The Georgia State Patrol said Guytrell Henry Martin, 54, of Commerce lost control of his vehicle near the Jackson-Banks County line. He was ejected from the car and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Martin’s son was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The State Patrol said Martin was not wearing a seatbelt.
