The 2008 Atlanta magazine dream home opens for tours

By Staff
ATLANTA – On Saturday the 2008 Atlanta Magazine Dream Home opened its doors in The River Club, a Gwinnett County community. This year’s Dream Home is presented by Allstate Insurance Company.

The Tuscan-inspired home, Villa Bella Vista, was constructed by Jim Bankes. Bankes, who has been building custom homes in north Atlanta for 14 years, brings to every project an amazing attention to detail and a wonderful hands-on approach.

The Dream Home will showcase the interior design work of Shane Meder, former host of NBC’s Creating Style and an award-winning designer. Meder’s style combines comfort and casual elegance. The home will also feature quality products from Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork and Traditions in Tile.

As impressive as the home itself is its setting. The River Club, in Suwanee, is situated on the banks of the Chattahoochee River and was crafted by Crescent Communities with sincere respect for the land and an appreciation of quality, enduring architecture. The stunning homes, family sports center, and golf clubhouse blend in seamlessly with the community’s mature, wooded environment.

This year’s beneficiary is the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, a not-for-profit organization supporting the Gwinnett Medical Center, recently recognized by HealthGrades with the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence. This award places Gwinnett Medical Center in the top 5 percent of hospitals in the country for clinical excellence. Project PATH is Gwinnett
Medical Center’s incredible vision to transform health care in the Gwinnett community and ensure the very best care is available for every patient they serve.

Tours run through Nov. 30. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and include a 12-month subscription to Atlanta magazine and Atlanta Magazine’s HOME. For specific times and directions or to purchase tickets, visit atlantamagazinedreamhome.com.
