GAINESVILLE - We are rapidly moving toward the start of the Summer Olympics - and next month Canada will hold some Olympic trials on Lake Lanier.

That's when Canoe Kayak Canada brings 130 athletes and 30 staff, coaches and officials to Gainesville for two days of Olympic tryouts at the rowing venue on Clarks Bridge Road.

The dates are May 3-4.

The boat ramp at the park will be closed both days. In addition, installation of the Olympic course on water is set to begin Saturday.
