Morehouse 48, Clark Atlanta 33

Duwuan Burton passed for 335 yards and three touchdowns and also score twice while leading morehouse to a 48-33 victory over Clark Atlanta in a wild outburst that produced just under 1,000 yards of offense.

Burton scored on a pair of 1-yard runs and had scoring passes of 7 yards to Jeremiah Thompson, 33 yards to Raymond Johnson and 17 yards to Danny Pittman for the Maroon Tigers (4-5, 3-3 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).

Clark (0-9,0-7) actually outgained the Tigers, 503 yards to 463.

Tony Mathis and Doe Brice each scored twice for Clark Atlanta. Mathis scored on a 52-yard run and 89-yard kickoff return and Brice scored on a 48-yard run and 81-yard pass reception from Adrian Johnson, who passed for 82 yards and ran for 191, including a 26-yard touchdown run.

John David Washington, son of actor Denzel Washington, scored on a 5-yard run for Morehouse and finished with 106 yards on 26 carries.
