Douglas runs to award for Duke

Dukes Chris Douglas was named Atlantic Coast Conference offensive back of the week after a stellar performance on Saturday against a stout Georgia Tech run defense.

The Yellow Jackets entered its game against the Blue Devils with the top rushing defense in the ACC, but Douglas ran for 218 yards and two touchdowns in Dukes 41-17 victory. It was his third straight 100-yard game.

Dukes Rusty Wilson was named offensive lineman of the week.

Two stars from North Carolinas 42-34 victory over Wake Forest were recognized. Tar Heels defensive back Michael Waddell blocked a field goal and an extra point attempt to grab the special teams honor. Ronnie McGill rushed for 244 yards and three touchdowns for the rookie honor.

Clemson players took the final two honors for the teams 26-10 victory over Florida State. Leroy Hill paced the Tigers with 10 tackles and an interception. He helped hold the Seminoles to a season-low 11 yards rushing.

Tye Hill took the defensive back award for his four tackles and interception in Clemsons win.
